Martin Luther King is probably one of the greatest men who have ever graced this planet of ours. His life was an example of the greatest ideas that were even more impressive and effective than anyone else in world. Martin Luther King set an example of simple living and high thinking. The timeline of Martin Luther King can be displayed as follows:

  • 1929: Martin Luther King Jr. was born in a Negro family, in Atlanta in Georgia. He was christened as Michael Luther King but he changed his name from Michael to Martin.
  • 1944: At the age of 15 years only, Martin showed his sharp brain to get graduated from segregated public schools in Georgia. Completed his graduate degree from the Morehouse College from where his father and grandfather also did their degrees in Graduation. Later, he joined Boston University for further graduation courses.
  • 1953-1955: Martin Luther King Jr. met Coretta Scott and fell in a deep relationship with her. They go married in the same year.  The same year brought him rare educational distinction as he got the Doctorate degree in Philosophy from Boston University in 1955. The same year , he became the distinguished President of Montgomery Improvement Association.
  • 1957: Martin Luther King Jr. started his life as a champion of human right and he spoke to a gathering of more than 15,000 people in Washington D. C. which was a great achievement for person belonging to a colored tribe or class.
  • 1959: His visit to India, the land of Gandhi in 1959 marks a great importance in the life of Martin Luther King Jr.  He showed his deepest tribute to Gandhi, whom he believed to be the Champion of Modern Human rights. He described his visit to India as a pilgrimage to the land of Gandhi, his greatest idols in real life.
  •   1962: Martin Luther King Jr. participated in many movements from the front and was sent behind the bars many a times. During the unsuccessful Georgia Movement, he stayed closer to the oppressors.
  • 1963: The active political life of Martin Luther King had stated by this time. He attended many movements and left his deeper impression upon the masses.  He was sent to jails in Birmingham more than once too. Most of these jail orders made him come up more strongly.
  • 1968: On the April the 4th, 1969, Martin Luther King Jr. was shot to death while he was standing at the hotel of Lorraine Motel. This tradition of unfair social customs was banned till the next announcements were made.
