Martin Luther King, Jr. was a gift to the Earth. He was an American Clergyman, activist and also a prominent leader of the World. He was one of the renowned persons in the field of Civil Rights who bought novel and advanced ideas in it.

Life story

Martin Luther King was born on 15 January 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. At the time of his birth the name given to him was Michael, but later it was changed to Martin. His father was a Minister and mother was a school teacher.

Education life

He began his education at Yonge Street Elementary School in Atlanta then he got admission in David T Howard Elementary School for his further education. He attained his higher education from Booker T Washington High School in which his marks benefited him and provided a direct entrance in Morehouse College in 1944.

Later on he took his postgraduate study from Crozer Religious Seminar and received his doctorate in 1955. He returned to South in order to become Baptist of Church in Montgomery. There he was taken aback by the racial discrimination and injustice prevailing and made his mind to work for them in order to provide them respectable life in the place where they live. His struggle began with mobilizing the black boycott of the Montgomery bus system in 1955.

The bus company made regulations by fixing the back seats for black people and white in front. The movement continued to 382 days that forced the bus company to change their adamant rules made by them. From this step his interest in Civil Rights of people enhanced and he devoted his whole life in serving these people and proving them equivalent right and status which is given to other white people in the country.

Awards he won

He did a lot of hard work and struggle in order to end racial segregation and racial discrimination through various civil disobedience moment and other non violent moments. His efforts and dedicated work was appraised through Nobel Peace Prize in 1964. He was the youngest person who has received the Nobel Prize. He was also awarded various honorary degrees from different college due to his excellence in the field of academics. He was also selected as one of the most outstanding personality of the year 1957 by Time due to his services and dedicated work.
